The OR Tambo SEZ also aims to promote job and enterprise development opportunities, the latter that is facilitated through partnerships that can enable the sustainable growth of emerging enterprises or new industrialists, further contributing to economic growth.
The OR Tambo SEZ is home to a thriving mineral beneficiation cluster. With the presence of key players such as the South Africa Diamonds and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR), the State Diamond Trader (SDT), a major gold refinery, a reputable and world class diamond tender house, various diamond cutting and polishing companies as well as jewellery designers and manufacturers, the OR Tambo SEZs Jewellery Manufacturing Precinct (JMP) is the ideal location to enhance your skills and capacity in jewellery design and production.
To support this, the OR Tambo SEZ has set up a bespoke jewellery and small business Enterprise Development Hub kitted out with machinery and equipment necessary to support emerging enterprises in their quest to design and/or produce their own jewellery products or lines.
The Enterprise Development Hub, as it is called, is a 300m² space that includes training rooms, board rooms, a CAD and print production room and a jewellery workshop. Amenities for refreshments including a well set up pause area have also been incorporated into this modern set up that seeks to inspire and innovate young jewellery industry players on their development journey.
To access the Hub’s wonderful amenities, a tailored and responsive rent-a-bench offering has been designed for emerging jewellery manufacturing entrepreneurs looking for a space to manufacture their products.
