The Gauteng IDZ’s Business Units Informed by its operational goals, the Business Units of the Gauteng IDZ comprise of:
Office of the CEO
The office of the CEO is a responsible for the overall operations of the Gauteng IDZ.
Serving as chief custodian of the Company’s operations and the main conduit between the Company, the board and the GGDA Group structure, the CEO works with the executive team to define and execute the strategic targets of the Company, same that must be aligned to the vision of the Gauteng Provincial Government to position Gauteng as globally competitive investment location.
Finance
Headed by the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Unit of the Gauteng IDZ oversees the entity’s financial planning and reporting.
The Finance Unit is also instrumental in providing input into the strategic direction of the Company, including partnerships that can be explored in support of the Gauteng IDZ’s development mandate.
Investment
Facilitation
The Investment Facilitation Unit oversees all investor facilitation activities; these include research into the sectors to be considered for investment uptake at the OR Tambo SEZ, market engagements on the investment opportunities available as well as broader strategic understandings that can be reached in pursuit of the Gauteng IDZ’s goal to position the OR Tambo SEZ as a globally competitive investment location .
Programme
Management
The Programme Management Unit of the Gauteng IDZ oversees the OR Tambo SEZ’s infrastructure and build programme. This includes working with key partners, colleagues, appointed contractors and resource teams to ensure that the SEZ build programme is effectively managed and is in keeping with professional construction standards.
Asset and
Facilities
The Asset and Facilities Function of the Gauteng IDZ is responsible for management of the OR Tambo SEZ’s property and assets. In support of its role, the A&F Unit must ensure that it maintains and operates a professional Precinct, supported by the necessary systems, procedures, processes and resources.
Security
Located at or in proximity to a national key point, Security is one of the major functions of the Gauteng IDZ’s operations. In support of this, the Gauteng IDZ works with key partners including Airports Company South Africa to ensure that it maintains a security philosophy in keeping with the requirements of operating a safe and secure globally competitive Precinct
